Software

Is there any software required to read out the LIBERO?

LIBERO needs no analysis software.
The PDF Logger® automatically creates the analysis report in form of a PDF file (text & chart) as soon as it is plugged into the USB port.
LIBERO can save 16‘000 temperature data points, i.e. with a 3-minute logging interval, 33 days of data are in the memory. If a detailed analysis (e.g. zoom of a certain day) is required, the PDF file can be imported into the elproLOG ANALYZE software. This functionality is available since May 2007 from version 3.41 onwards.

How can I configure the LIBERO?

By means of the LIBERO Configuration Utility respectively by LIBERO SmartStart

Software Installation

What minimum requirements must a PC fulfill in order to install the LIBERO Configuration Utility?

- Processor: 1.5 GHz
- Internal Memory: 512 MB RAM
- Free space on the Hard Disk: 50 MB
- Monitor: 800x600 Pixel
- Operating System: Win2000, XP, Vista

The Configuration Utility is installed, the LIBERO is inserted in configuration mode in the USB port, and however, the LIBERO icon does not appear in the Configuration Utility.

Despite a request during installation, the LIBERO USB driver has not been installed or only on one available USB port. Please perform complete installation again: www.pdf-logger.com

If the installation is not successful, check the size of the downloaded data file.

The size of the LIBERO Configuration Utility is about 30 MB. If size is not right, please download the software again.

USB Driver Installation

Install LIBERO USB Driver

Take a switched off LIBERO or bring a running LIBERO into configuration mode by simultaneously pressing the "Transit" and "Arrived" button for 2 seconds until display shows "ConF", plug it within 10 seconds into a USB port, otherwise LIBERO changes back into the logging mode.

! For LIBERO driver installation, administrator rights are required!

!  For every USB port that will later on be used for configuring the LIBERO, the USB driver must be installed !

 

Warning message during installation:

As the LIBERO driver is not a Microsoft driver, Windows will not support this driver. Please ignore the warning message. The LIBERO Driver can be installed without hesitation.

Can LIBERO also be connected to USB ports of the 1st generation (version 1.0)?

How can a LIBERO be put into configuration mode?

Simultaneously press the "Transit"- and "Arrived" buttons for 2 seconds until display shows "ConF", plug the LIBERO within 10 seconds into a USB port, otherwise LIBERO changes back into the logging mode.

LIBERO configuration

How can I configure the LIBERO?
In the Configuration Utility, the LIBERO is not visible; the display shows a temperature value.

Take a switched off LIBERO (display blank) or bring a running LIBERO into configuration mode by simultaneously pressing the "Transit" and "Arrived" buttons for 2 seconds until display shows "ConF", plug it within 10 seconds into any USB port, otherwise LIBERO changes back into the logging mode.

If the system administrator made safety precautions regarding the use of removable media, i.e. that these are not allowed, LIBERO can be registered resp. allowed by the IT.

Required identification numbers for the responsible IT of your company:

If LIBERO only wants to be read, there is no specific identifier, because the LIBERO behaves like a memory stick.

elproLOGCONFIG

he LIBERO is plugged in configuration mode in a USB port but cannot be found resp. be configured in the elproLOG CONFIG.

It is not possible to configure the LIBERO with elproLOG CONFIG.

Which version supports the import of LIBERO PDF files?

From version 3.41 onwards (May 2007), LIBERO PDF files can be imported.
From version 3.50 onwards, it is also possible to compare up to 6 PDF files with each other ("overlay" functionality)

PC Operating System Software

On which PC / workstations LIBERO can be read?

The LIBERO can be read independently of the operating system on all PCs / workstations that provide a USB port.

With what operating system software does the Configuration Utility work?

The Configuration Utility is a Windows program. Therefore, it cannot be run on MAC or LINUX platforms!

Serial number / License number

The LIBERO has an 8-digit ID number. I need a 12-digit serial number for software installation.

Viruses

Can LIBERO transfer viruses into the operating system of my computer?

No, LIBERO cannot transfer viruses, because it is not a removable disk (memory stick). The only software that can write onto LIBERO is the LIBERO Configuration Utility from Elpro. No other data can be saved on the LIBERO except parameters from the Configuration Utility. Its ability to create a PDF file is a completely automated process, in which neither the user nor external effects can intervene.

Readout

LIBERO is inserted into the USB port, display shows "PdF", orange illuminating diode is blinking, but there is no removable medium which shows the PDF-file.

By default, Windows automatically opens a new drive for the LIBERO removable medium and shows the LIBERO PDF file. If this Windows functionality "Auto start" is not active, please start the Windows Explorer and open the "LIBERO" device under "Desktop".

 

LIBERO is inserted in USB port, display shows "PdF", orange illuminating diode is blinking, but there is no removable medium which shows the PDF-file.

Maybe the use of removable media on your computer is not allowed, i.e. the device-letter "Z" is allocated. LIBERO searches a free device and if it does not find one, the PDF file cannot be showed. Contact your system administrator.

Passwords for Datalogger and PDF files

What can I do, if I forgot the password?

Bring the LIBERO in the configuration mode, insert it into the USB port, start the LIBERO Configuration Utility.

a)    Go to "Passwords" - "Set/Change Configuration Password". A "Request-Code" is shown, send an e-mail together with the LIBERO-ID number to: elpro@pdf-logger.com
b)    You will receive an e-mail with the according reset code. Elpro will not know the used password. This reset code is only valid once.
c)    When LIBERO is occupied with the new password and should reset again, change your request and also the reset-code.

Change Language

How can I change the language in the configuration tool?

Start LIBERO Configuration Utility, go to "Tools" "Application Settings..." "Language", and choose the desired language: German, English, French, Italian, and Dutch.

Internal Clock

Does the LIBERO take date and time from the PC or does he have an internal clock?

LIBERO has an internal clock (RTC = Real Time Clock) and works according to UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) what corresponds to GMT+0 (Greenwich Mean Time). This clock will synchronize on every re-configuration. In the Configuration Utility, the user can choose the GMT offset (location, e.g. New York = -6 hours) and the daylight saving period.

How accurate does the internal clock run?

+/- 5 minutes every 2 months or +/- 30 minutes per year (condition: stocked at room temperature 15-25°) if LIBERO is programmed just initially.

Long-term Stability

Is LIBERO long-term stable?

The LIBERO measuring system is long-term stable. It is a calibrated temperature sensor in an isolated case and is well protected from external influences. That is why stability is assured over 3 years with a maximum drift of 0,1°.
